All participants in the scramble
should prepare by having a digital and a hard copy of their
application packet ready to go.
CASPRweb will not
reopen (designations, CRIP, etc.) for the scramble.
The only applications the programs
will have access to online are students who previously applied to that
program through CASPR. However you can log onto
www.CASPRweb.org to print or
save a
copy of your application. You will have access to your account
until March 22nd, so don't delay!
CASPR will publish a document on
www.casprcrip.org at 5 pm EST on Match Day March 8, 2010 with a page for each
program with an unfilled position. The page will list the
application materials required by the program, deadlines, contact
information, etc.
Each program has specific requirements
for application during the scramble just as they had during the
regular CASPR cycle. Be sure to read each Unfilled Parameters page
carefully for the materials you need to send. The most common
materials are transcripts, NBPME scores, and CV (in addition to the
CASPR application).
You
can begin contacting programs immediately. However, some programs
do not want to be contacted directly, they just want you to send
your application. All
communication happens directly between the program and the
applicants. CASPR is not involved in the Scramble
process.
The Scramble happens very quickly.
Each program establishes
their own schedules and many will fill that first day. It is
important to be prepared.
